Inheriting Critiques of Empire: PhD Roundtable with Professor Antony Anghie and Friends.

This workshop is directed towards PhD students based in Australia, who are taking up critiques of imperialism emerging from the work of Professors Anghie, Nesiah and the (early) TWAILERs.
Papers will be short (5-10 minutes) to allow for more participants to engage with Professor Anghie and other senior scholars. Papers should highlight how your work takes up this inheritance.
Application Process
1. Abstract length to be 200-250 words,
2. Name your abstract file: (YOUR LAST NAME IN CAPS)_Inheriting Critiques_Anghie
3. At the start of your abstract, list, your title, your name (last name capitalised), discipline, institutional affiliation, and contact details (email, whatsapp),
4. Email Subject header: Inheriting Critiques_Anghie
5. Submit your abstract to lp-gcil@unimelb.edu.au by 23 Feb
Note
No travel or accommodation grants are available. There will be a (funded) dinner after the Roundtable.
This Roundtable is part of a 5-day suite of events to celebrate Professor Anghie’s body of work and his visit to Australia. Workshop participants will be invited to register for the conference to be held on 7 & 8 August, and the Turner lecture to be delivered by Professor Anghie on 5 August. A limited number of non-participant registrations will also be available. Registration information will be available soon.
