A Colonial History of Indian Company Law

Tanvee's project seeks to understand the legislative history of company laws in India and how these laws developed over the first half of the 19th century while India was under the colonial administration of the East India Company (β€œEIC”). The project looks at Indian corporate legislative history at a time when India itself was under company rule, drawing out moments of engagement between the EIC, the Indian 'government' and companies themselves to understand the origin of company laws in India.
